OH MY GOD
THIS IS SO HORRIBLY PERFECT
I LOVE IT
Wow I remember this. I loved this artist and still do. By the way here’s her website everyone
Good message, but it’s not true. If we keep going the way we are, thousands of species will go extinct. The point is is that we’re changing things too fast that nature CAN’T adapt. Life will survive, but the biosphere as we know it will be utterly destroyed.
The biosphere as we believe it was utterly destroyed countless times over the course of millions of years my impacts, volcanic eruptions, and ice ages. Nature kills itself and gives birth to new things all the time.
Are we doing profound and unquestionable damage? Yes. Should we fucking stop? Yes. Yet Nature cares little for the things we destroy, invasive species, and poisoned water. It goes around it.
The redwoods and sequoias were invasive trees that strangled the young surrounding forests after the glaciers receded, choking their roots and starving them of sunlight. Now they reign majestic and arrogant in their mountains. Life moves on. If humans eventually kill ourselves, the world will survive.
There are mushrooms that now survive off nuclear waste and earthworms that eat poisonous metals. The earth is not so weak, and far from kindhearted. Nature cares for her dead the way we ourselves care about our dead skin or the split ends of our hair. Nature sees only the future, and life that still needs to be lived.
